The Right Way To buy Airline Tickets

Ok, I have to admit I am starting to get travel fever! I will be celebrating my 25th Wedding Anniversary this year, and I want to go someplace exotic with my honey. However, it can be nerve-racking trying to find the best deals out there! I not only use the travel sites like Orbitz, Priceline, and Expedia, but I also check with the hotels themselves. Sometimes, it is better to just book directly with the hotel I find. But what about those price-climbing airline tickets?

The Adored HomeToday, on Money Monday, I found some advice from MSN Money on the right way to buy airline tickets. Experts say with airfares soaring and expected to gain more altitude this summer, finding the best deal is important. But shopping for airfares online has changed. Here’s how

One tip for saving on those airline tickets is to fly on Wednesdays for the best deals, with Tuesdays and Saturdays also being the cheapest days to fly. Tuesdays are also the best time to buy airline tickets, but be careful because most of these discounted airfares are pulled on Thursdays, so your probably paying too much if buying on the weekends!

The cheapest time to fly is typically the first flight out in the morning. Ugh, I know; this means you may have to get up at 4 AM! The next best times are flights during or after lunch and flights at the dinner hour. And, of course, the absolute cheapest time to fly is on those limited routes that have red eyes.

No matter what your plans are for travel, I hope this has helped you find ways to save on your next trip.
